Java and WebGen

Webgen started off as a trial project in Java. It is based, loosely, on some ideas I stole from HTMLPX - html programmers extension. Basically I consider it SSI (server side include) which happens before the html file is loaded. One more level of indirection. You add some HTML like tags (#INCLUDE) in your .htt (hypertext template) file, and run webgen, and create an HTML file.

The project eventually got shelved after a certain point. I was writing a new language within HTML, and it would never be as powerful as I wanted. And I could tell I was going the wrong direction. I did however come up with a logo I quite like (above). I then moved onto Python, in which I created a Web Indexer (web generator) that I quite like and actually works.

Java Webgen as it stands is dead. But it's here for you to look at if you so desire. Enjoy. Download the web gen zip file and don't forget you need the java run time available at The Java home page.
